President William Ruto has used his ongoing four-day tour of Kisii and Nyamira counties to defend his administration’s development record while signaling a firm stance to political opponents.
The Head of State made the remarks after inspecting the KSh75 million Mogonga Market in Bomachoge Borabu Constituency on Tuesday, April 14, a project expected to accommodate about 200 traders upon completion.
The market is among several infrastructure projects being rolled out across the region under the government’s development agenda.
The tour has seen the President commission and inspect markets, roads, and other public facilities, as part of efforts to accelerate economic activity in Kisii and Nyamira counties.

Speaking during the visit, Ruto said his administration has remained focused on delivering projects across the country, insisting that promises made to Kenyans are being fulfilled through visible development.
“For the past three years, we have demonstrated that our word is our bond. Across every corner of our great nation, we are turning commitment into action,” he said.
He further emphasized that leadership is determined by results rather than political rhetoric, adding that citizens evaluate leaders based on their track record.
“Positions of leadership are won through action and results, not mere words. Kenyans elect leaders based on their track record, the vision they carry, and whether they can be trusted to deliver on the promises they make,” Ruto stated.

The tour is expected to continue with more project inspections and commissioning activities across the two counties.
